Assistance to pleasure craft with propellor fanned

ILB

ILB requested to launch to assist pleasure craft with propeller fanned up close to the harbour entrance and unable to move.

ILB low water launch and towed the stricken vessel back into Anstruther Harbour and safely moored it up to the west pier.

ILB then rehoused.

Assistance to paddle boarder

Request from HMCG to locate and assist a paddle boarder report to be in difficulty.

On arrival the ILB crew found that no assistance was required and returned to station and re-housed

Assistance to kayakers thought to be in difficulty off Shell Bay

Immediate launch of both boats requested by HMCG on report of two persons in difficulty hanging on to Kayaks off Shell Bay near Elie,.

Both boats launched and while transiting were informed that the casualties had made their own way back to the shore and no further assistance required.

Lifeboats stood down and returned to Anstruther, the ALB having to tie up at the end of the west pier and wait for the tide to rehouse.

Support to fishing vessel thought to be in difficulty off Cellardyke

ILB

Request from HMCG to locate a small white vessel thought to be in difficulties going around in circles off Cellardyke.

ILB launched and located the vessel safe & well (fishing with lines for maceral). No assistance needed, the vessel continued its fishing.

The first informant confirmed the casualty vessel, Lifeboat stood down and returned to Anstruther and rehoused

False alarm with good intent

Assistance to lost person around Ruddons Point Elie

HMCG requested the launch of both boats to assist in the search for a person in the water west of Ruddons point Elie.
While both boats were transiting to the location the casualty was spotted by Rescue 199. helo illuminated the casualty walking at speed precariously east towards Elie.
Both boats stood by close to the location as a precaution in case the casualty fell or entered the water before the Police had change to apprehend the casualty, suspected to be under the influence of alcohol.
The casualty was met by Police Scotland safe & well. Both boats stood down and returned to station.

Rescue of personfollowing fall from Anstruther Harbour Pier

Assistance requested on report of a person falling from the Pier and hitting the pontoon then into the mud, stuck waist deep in water with rising tide within Anstruther harbour.

ILB crew and additional crew quickly on scene with two ILB crew with dry suits in the water to assist the casualty.
Casualty recovered from water and put into Basket stretcher in recovery position then immediately handed over to Ambulance crew

Locate and assist 2 windsurfers off Crail Harbour

Request from HMCG to locate and assist two windsurfers reported to be in difficulty off Crail harbour.
Both boats launched in poor weather conditions.
ILB on scene as the casualties made land and were assisted by Coastguard teams on the rocks near to the harbour.
Lifeboats returned to Anstruther and rehoused, ALB moored up waiting for water to re-house.

Assistance to chidren in kayaks off Lower Largo

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to launch both boats to locate and assist two children in kayaks off Lower Largo. First informant concerned for their welfare with darkness approaching.
ILB on scene with ALB just following when casualties were located safe & well by HMCG CRT's.

Both boats stood down and returned to station and rehoused.

ILB launched to report of two lifejackets floating off Ellie harbour, ILB on scene and searching when the owner identified them and confirmed that nobody was at risk.

ILB stood down and returned to Anstruther harbour.
