Assistance to Sick Crewman

Request by Aberdeen Coastguard to assist a crewman, on board a Fishing Vessel in Pittenweem harbour, with a suspected diabetic related condition. 
ILB on scene and safely transferred the casualty to the Ambulance and Coastguard waiting at the old slip. 
 
No further assistance required the Lifeboat re-housed

Fishing Vessel With Fouled Propeller

Request by Aberdeen Coastguard to assist a small creel boat fanned up on creel ropes (ropes around propeller) off Cellardyke harbour, with 1 person on board. 
ILB launched and located the casualty, being assisted by another vessel, the ILB crew took over the tow and using a bridal and tow rope proceeded to Anstruther harbour where the casualty was beached in an "alongside tow".
No further assistance required the Lifeboat re-housed

Requested by Aberdeen Coastguard to assist fishing vessel with 2 persons on board with mechanical problems.
ALB launched and located the casualty at anchor in the Firth of Forth.
A tow was established and the casualty taken to Pittenween and safely berthed.

No further information required the Lifeboat then returned to Anstruther and re-housed

Rescue of Flooding Vessel

Requested by Aberdeen Coastguard to assist a fishing boat taking on water 7 miles NE from Port Seaton within the Firth of Forth.
ALB on scene and transferred four crew and two pumps to the casualty vessel, having reduced the water level the fishing gear was retrieved and made safe.
Casualty then towed back to Port Seaton, where it was safely moored alongside in the harbour and passed over to the Coastguard.
ALB returned to berth at Pittenweem harbour, where it was refuel led and awaited the tidal conditions at Anstruther.

Crew recalled rehousing at 17:00

Historic Boat Endangered

Crew still at the station having just returned from a service call (No 14), when the Scottish Fisheries Museum historic fishing vessel ‘White Wing’ was being launched on the slip.
Casual assistance turned into rescue as the vessel started taking on a large quantity of water, crew arranged salvage pumps to reduce the influx, while the ILB was launched and towed the casualty to the beach within the harbour were it could be safely berthed.

RNLI crews returned in two shifts from 22:30 to 03:00 and 03:00 to 05:00 to assist in pumping out during high tide until a crane could be arranged.

Fishing Vessels Set Adrift By Strong Winds

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to assist a Fishing Vessel broken loose of its mooring in Pittenweem harbour.

Crew travelled by road to Pittenweem and helped secure several fishing vessels that had either snapped or slipped their moorings in the strong winds.
​
Crew returned to station when all vessels were safely moored.
​

Escort to Two Fishing Vessels

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to divert from exercise, to escort FV Carisma being towed by FV Maxine because of engine problems (low oils suspected).
ILB diverted and located the casualty, escorting in case of any problems.
ILB stood down when both the fishing vessels were safely moored in Pittenweem harbour.
Exercise continued to 20:30 before rehousing.

Assistance to Fishing Boat

Request from the skipper of a creel boat to the Lifeboat Station for assistance, reported propellor fouled by creel ropes in the channel to Pittenweem harbour.
The station contacted Aberdeen Coastguard to page the crew to assist, though the page was actually activated from the station.

ILB launched, casualty located and tow rigged back into Pittenweem harbour.
