ILB
Requested by Aberdeen Coastguard to assist the other emergency services, Fire Rescue, Ambulance, and Police & Coastguard, attending an unconscious fisherman who had fallen onto the deck of a fishing boat in Pittenweem harbour.
The ILB was quickly on scene with all other available crew attending by road (about two miles from the Lifeboat Station) to offer assistance.
The ILB crew in consultation established a safe route to transfer the casualty to the other services as quickly and safely as possible at the old harbour.
The casualty was then taken care of by the ambulance and other services on scene.

ILB returned to rehouse at Anstruther

Station coxswain Michael Bruce commented, 'This was a carefully coordinated rescue incorporating the individual training of the ambulance service, police, fire service and coastguard shore team to ensure the safe, swift stabilisation and evacuation of the injured fisherman. With all services understanding their own and more importantly each other's capabilities, we were able to coordinate  the evacuation by our ILB crew to colleagues shore side.
We would like to thank all services involved and wish the injured man a speedy recovery."
