Family Cut Off By The Tide

Casualties located and safely transferred back to the Lifeboat slip.
No further assistance required the ILB re-housed

Hele-evacuation of Climber

ALB and ILB

Both lifeboats launched at request of Aberdeen Coastguard to report of adult female thought to have fallen and sustained injuries to her shoulder at the Chain Walk near Elie. 
The ILB was first on scene and located the casualty in a gully were the surf and swell were making access difficult. ILB crew assessed the casualty’s condition and administered first aid. 
The ALB stood off and transferring further Cas. Care trained crew with additional first aid equipment to the scene, being joined there by Coastguard and Paramedics. 
Because of the difficult location and sea condition in the gully the decision was made to air lift the casualty to nearby open area for transfer to a waiting ambulance. 
No further assistance was required and both lifeboats returned to station.

Medivac of Injured Crewman

Both Lifeboats tasked to FV approximately 1mile SE of Elie with three crew on board. 
One crewman had suffered a reported ‘fit ‘and required medical assistance. 
The ILB was first on scene and transferred an RNLI ‘Cas Care’ registered crew man onto the casualty vessel, he was joined by two further RNLI ‘Cas Care’ crew after transfer by the ILB. 
The crew made an assessment of the casualty who had been unconscious for a short while, had sustained a bang to the head and was confused at the time of assessment, plus his upper body strength was not normal with lack of grip.
Following the assessment the coxswain made the decision to Med Evac the casualty with the ALB to Ambulance at Pittenweem, because of the tidal conditions the FV could not enter the harbour, the skipper of the FV requested that the casualty evacuated as soon as possible. 
ILB crew assisted in the transfer to ALB and ambulance within Pittenweem harbour. 
 
HMCG teams were in the harbour to assist and while a further assessment was made by an off duty ambulance technician (part of the CG team) on board the ALB the emergency ambulance response was requested for the casualty transfer to hospital.

Both boats launched at request of HMCG to assist Police Scotland in search for a missing 38 year old female in the area Shell Bay to Largo.
The woman was presumed to have entered the water from information received from her partner.
HMCG helicopter was also tasked to assist the search along with two Coastguard rescue teams
The casualty was located safe & well on shore by Police SAR teams.
Both boats were stood down on-route.
ILB returned to station and ALB berthed at Pittenweem because of tidal restriction at Anstruther.

Rescue of 2 persons From Kayak

Request by Aberdeen Coastguard to locate yellow kayak off Crail golf course and Fife Ness on the Firth of Forth. First informant, a 999 caller had visual sighting. 
ALB on scene and able to locate the kayak a mile off shore, being blown out to sea and on the flood tide.
Casualties taken on board and given blankets, the Kayak was secured on deck for safe return to Anstruther harbour. 
Because of the high tide the crew were recalled to rehouse one and a quarter hours later.

Elie Chain Walk Rescue

Both lifeboats tasked to the Chain Walk near Elie, to search for a missing person.
ILB on scene first and liaised with Police and Coastguard at Shell Bay. SOC Detective taken by ILB to the casualty location.
The basket stretcher used by the crew to recover the casualty, who was then transferred to the ALB just off shore.
The casualty was brought to Pittenweem for off-loading to Police & Coastguard. 
No further assistance was required both boats returned to Anstruther for debrief.

11-year-old Boy in Sea

ILB tasked to assist a dog in the water off Elie, while the owner a 11 year old boy was at risk in the water trying to recover the dog.
 
ILB stood down on-route as dog returned to shore and no assistance was required.

Assistance to Kayaker

Launched to report of kayaker 1/4mile off the Isle of May in the Firth of Forth.
A local tourist ferry had assisted the casualty who had been sick and not feeling well.
ALB launched and located the casualty, one of three kayakers, being sick and unable to return to mainland.
Sea sick tablets were given and the casualty with kayak, safely returned to Anstruther. The other two kayaks were monitored while they made their own way back to Anstruther.
Casualty handed over to the Coastguard but no further assistance was required.

Exhausted Paddle-boarder Returned to Shore

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to locate a female paddle-boarder off Buddoness who was being blown off shore, exhausted but not injured
ILB first on scene locating the casualty, taking her on board and after initial assessment that no treatment was required, took her to waiting car at East Sands St Andrews. 
ALB stood down on route as no further assistance required.
 
Both boats returned to station and re-housed

Child Injured in Fall on Rocks

Request from Aberdeen Coast guard for assistance following alert by the coxswain of a child that had fallen from the coastal path while on a bicycle onto rock below.
Coxswain and paramedic on scene to stabilise the 11 year old with head injury.
ILB on scene and transferred the casualty to the slip at Pittenweem from where a waiting ambulance conveyed the child for treatment at Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy.
 
ILB returned to station and rehoused.
