No 24 and 25/2017 DATE 28/09/17 14:07 – 17:15 hrs. ALB and ILB Both lifeboats launched at request of Aberdeen Coastguard to report of adult female thought to have fallen and sustained injuries to her shoulder at the Chain Walk near Elie. The ILB was first on scene and located the casualty in a gully were the surf and swell were making access difficult. ILB crew assessed the casualty’s condition and administered first aid. The ALB stood off and transferring further Cas. Care trained crew with additional first aid equipment to the scene, being joined there by Coastguard and Paramedics. Because of the difficult location and sea condition in the gully the decision was made to air lift the casualty to nearby open area for transfer to a waiting ambulance.
