ALB and ILB 

Coastguard request to search for missing person between Anstruther and Pittenweem. Both boats launched and used searchlights to assist Police & Coastguard locate the casualty.

No further assistance required returned to Anstruther, crew recalled to re-house ALB at 08:30.

ALB requested to divert while on exercise to report of small RIB with three persons on-board overdue return to Burntisland harbour.
ALB proceeded and further requested to contact any other vessel in the area that may have any information on the missing RIB.

ALB stood down when Kinghorn ILB located the RIB in the harbour.
Lifeboat concluded exercise and returned to Anstruther harbour and re-housed.

Both boats requested to launch to search an area between Fifeness & St Andrews after activation of an EPIRB previously registered to vessel in Anstruther harbour.
 
On route to location, it was ascertained that the EPIRB may be on shore in an industrial unit close to the search area. When confirmed both boats stood down although re-tasked to investigate a possible Mayday call from a local fishing vessel picked up by another local vessel.
 
ILB checked out that the vessel and crew were safe, when confirmed both boats returned to station.

Request from HMCG to assist Police Scotland in search for a person in the water. The initial request was  the for ILB to launch, but Coxswain contacted HMCG by landline and agreed to launch both boats. The location of the person or body was not clear from first informant.

With Police & HMCG on the shore, a parallel shore search was conducted guided by the first informant.
Nothing found and both boats returned to Anstruther.
