Coastguard request to launch both boats to locate and standby two casualty’s stuck on cliffs at the east end of the Chain walk near Elie.
 
Lifeboats on scene and located the casualties then stood off and awaited HMCG CRT.
 
Casualty’s recovered up to the cliff top by Coastguard teams.
Both boats awaited the casualty’s safe rescue at the top of the cliffs.
Then stood down and returned to station.

Coastguard request to medivac person from the Isle of May, who had travelled there on the local tour boat. Casualty feeling seasick with other reported medical conditions.
 
ALB launched and located the casualty at Kirkhaven harbour on the Isle of May.
 
The casualty was stabilised and returned on the ALB to ambulance waiting at Anstruther harbour.

Launch to female with chest pains on coastal path

Launch request from Coastguard to assist 70 year old female with reported chest pains on the coastal path somewhere between Caiplie & Crail.
LOM authorised both boats because of uncertain location and the casualties possibly suffering a heart attack.
ILB located the casualty with her husband and two ILB crew provided first aid with Oxygen, GTN spray & Aspirin.

Casualty stabilised after initial drugs administered.
Helo Rescue 199 had been tasked as ambulance crew could not reach the location. Helo landed casualty was assessed and evacuated to Ninewells Hospital Dundee.
Both boats stood down and returned to station to re-house.

Injured man fell 40 ft from cliff

Both boats launched to report of 15 year old male having fallen (40ft) at Kincraig Point Elie.
Tasked to locate and provide casualty care. ILB on scene first with location established picked up Coastguard paramedic from beach to assist ILB & ALB Lifeboat crew on scene. Casualty was stabilised and stretchered to agreed location for enhanced care by trauma team on helicopter.
The helicopter then landed at Shell Bay to incubate casualty and stabilise further before heading to Glasgow QE University Hospital for specialist treatment.
ALB transferred team leader and casualty's brother to Elie with assistance from ILB and Lifeguards.
Both boats stood down once the helo had departed the scene

Night Rescue of Man Cut-off by Tide

Coastguard requested assistance to locate and rescue 20-year-old male stuck on rocks at Kingcraig Point.
Both boats launched with ILB on scene first and able to locate and evacuate the casualty with ALB providing cover.
Casualty transferred by ILB to Coastguard at Earlsferry beach, cold but not injured.
Both boats returned to station

Injured Person on Isle of May

Request to assist a 46 year old female who had fallen on the Isle of May and was in pain with suspected broken ankle.
ALB on scene and crew dispatched on foot with first aid and stretcher from the  island harbour.
Patient assessment undertaken, Entonox given and casualty carried back to the ALB in the harbour.
Casualty and husband transferred to Anstruther on ALB.

ILB launched at request of coxswain to assist in minimising the risk during transfer of casualty from ALB to ambulance waiting on the harbour, with reduced tide the ALB was not able to berth for transfer.
With the casualty safely on the ambulance both boats rehoused.

Assistance to Injured Walker

Request to assist HMCG with a 40 year old female walker who had fallen 10-20 feet from the coastal path to the east of St Monans.
ILB quickly on scene along with two paramedics, the crew assisted to immobilise the casualty and evacuate by stretcher along the shore to awaiting ambulance.
 
ILB returned to station.

Medical Assistance to Injured Lady

Coxswain alerted by crew member at 10:55 that an elderly woman had fallen outside the nearby Harbourlea sheltered housing complex. Coxswain left station with crewman to attend the scene taking Casualty Care Bag & oxygen. East Neuk First Responder  now on scene to assist plus staff from Harbourlea.
Initial assessment carried out with ENFR. Casualty stable but, given the atrocious wind and weather, the Coxswain retuned to station to collect Entenox and it was administered at 11:00.
Casualty was kept warm but not moved because of previous hip replacement problems.
Ambulance arrived at 11:25, assisted stretcher the casualty into ambulance. No further assistance needed.

Person (and dog) rescued from cliff

​Phone call received at station by the Coxswain from a member of the public having seen a dog stuck on the cliffs and the owner attempting to climb up from the beach at Pittenweem. Immediate assistance was requested.
​LOM authorised a launch, crew pagers were activated from the station COAX and HMCG informed of launch along with contact details of first informant and location given.
HMCG cliff team descended down the cliff to rescue the casualty and dog. ILB stood by during the operation.
Crew stood down when cliff face was clear of all persons and returned to rehouse.
