HMCG request both boats to locate and assist a person a small vessel off Elie lighthouse, reported to be waving by first informant on land.
Vessel located by ILB safe and not in need of any assistance, reported to be waiting on the tide to enter Elie harbour.
ALB stood down on route
False alarm with good intent

Support to 12m yacht adrift at Neart na Gaoithe (NNG) offshore wind farm

Request from HMCG to launch ALB to assist 12m yacht adrift at the NE corner of the Nng windfarm site, 3 persons onboard with one suffering bad sea sickness.
Guard vessel for wind farm heading to assist and take in tow.
ALB requested to take over tow to nearest appropriate safe haven.
ALB launch delayed because of crew location and nearby roadworks, Coxswain contacted HMCG to advice and launched 34min after initial tasking time.
ALB took over the tow back to Anstuther harbour.

Assistance to 16 foot vessel off Pittenweem with mechanical problems

Request from Coastguard to located and assist a 16 foot vessel off Pittenweem with mechanical problems, 3 persons onboard, anchor was away and having limited comms with intermittent handheld VHF.
 
The vessel was not near the original location given and eventually spotted close to rocks off Cellardyke.
 
ALB transferred one crew member across with hand held VHF and survivors lifejackets for the occupants.
A tow was established and casualty vessel towed safely into Anstruther harbour and berthed.
 
ALB tied up at West Pier and rehoused later in the morning when tide conditions allowed

Assistance to sail training vessel with mechanical problems

Request form HMCG to assist 38 foot sail training vessel with mechanical problems and 8 persons on board within the Firth of Forth.
ALB launched and located the casualty, taken in tow to Pittenweem harbour .
 
ILB launch requested to assist the manoeuvre into the harbour, one ALB crew man changed over to ILB .
 
Casually safely berthed, no further assistance required ALB returned to Anstruther & rehoused

Request from HMCG to assist a yacht with two persons on board.
The yacht had mechanical problems and the exhausted crew not able to control the yacht under sail to enter the harbour.
ALB located the casualty and safely towed it into Anstruther harbour.
ALB then rehoused

Rescue of 6m RIB

HMRC requested launch of ILB to assist broken down 6m RIB, having suffered steering failure and then the lost overboard of the auxiliary engine, with four persons on board.
The RIB was drifting and not at anchor though, persons onboard were all kitted up with Lifejackets and not in need of medical assistance.
ILB arrived on scene, transferred a crew member and set up a tow safely back to Anstruther harbour.
