ALB
Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to investigate a rib drifting off Crail.
ALB launched, located the vessel and a search of the local area conducted.
The vessel appeared to have broken loose from a mooring and after discussion with the first informant the Coastguard stood down the lifeboat.

Station mechanic / second coxswain witnessed a fall and leg brake locally at a football match.
Immediate first aid was administer on the pitch, the casualty was in pain but stable allowing the mechanic to return to the lifeboat station as the ambulance was reported as 35min away. He obtained the Entonox to relieve the pain and immobilise the leg until the ambulance arrived, others assisted under instruction.

Casualty handed over to the ambulance personnel.

Crew responded to a report outside and close to the lifeboat station of elderly male falling backward over a bollard and cutting his head.
Station mechanic / second coxswain and harbour master assisted, administering first aid and giving oxygen until the ambulance arrived.
Casualty handed over to the ambulance personnel.

Whilst departing Anstruther to Pittenweem the coxswain noticed smoke billowing from a motor vessel nearby.

He investigated and spoke with the crew of three, who were having engine problems. As they were still making their way for Anstruther, the Coastguard was informed and it was agreed that the lifeboat escort the casualty back to their berth.
Aberdeen Coastguard was notified of the completed service at 17:25.

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to assist a yacht off the Bass Rock stranded without engine or steering with five persons on board, making its way to Anstruther.
ALB located and towed the vessel back to Anstruther harbour.
The ILB launched to assist entry to the harbour and berth the casualty vessel.

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to assist two persons stranded on the chain walk cliff traverse above the water.
Coastguard response teams were on scene.
ILB located the casualties, made certain that no first aid was required, and then transferred them safely to the beach at Elie Golf course and the waiting Coastguard.
ALB stood by during transfer. Boat boats were stood down and returned to Anstruther.

Request from crew of a Fishing Vessel in Pittenweem harbour taking on water.
Crew mustered and travelled by road to the casualty and helped pump out the water until the leak could be fixed.

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to investigate reports of a silver microlight ditching in Largo Bay.

With both lifeboats on route a small creel boat spotted, the object that the first informant was watching. The crew though it was three balloons, ILB arrived on scene to confirm it was balloons and there was nobody in danger.
Boat boats were stood down and returned to Anstruther. ALB moored at east pier to await full tide and re-house. Rehouse completed at 19:00

A member of the public alerted the crew, have just returned, to a young boy who had fallen on the harbour pier and cut his knee.

Two crew gave first, aid sterilising and dressing the wound. He was then able to continue with his parents.

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to assist a motor vessel, with one person on board, in the fog, with a fouled propeller. The ALB located the casualty vessel, cut free the creel Dan line and passed over a tow with crew man, then safely towed the casualty to Anstruther harbour.
The casualty was safely moored, no further assistance required the lifeboat rehoused.

The casualty was safely moored; no further assistance required the lifeboats returned to Anstruther to rehouse.

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to assist a fishing vessel, with two persons on board, drifting 5 miles off Anstruther with fuel problems. T
he ALB located the casualty vessel, passed over a tow and safely towed the casualty to Pittenweem harbour, the ILB launched to assist entry to the harbour.
The casualty was safely moored; no further assistance required the lifeboats returned to Anstruther to rehouse.

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to search for and assist three persons in a small boat on passage from Lower Largo to Shell Bay

The ALB on route when casualties were spotted by Coastguard shore team getting into a car that left the scene.
ALB stood down at 23:48 and returned to Anstruther to rehouse.

ILB having just re-housed and crew still on station, a member of the public raised concerns to the crew about an angler stranded on rocks on the back of Anstruther east pier and tide still rising. 
ILB launched and safely brought the casualty back to the lifeboat slip a little shaken but OK
No further assistance required the Lifeboats re-housed.

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to assist a fishing vessel with one person on board off Fife Ness. 
The casualty vessel had mechanical failure with a loss of all power; the anchor was down and drifting to the shore.
ALB located the vessel, transferred crew to assist and safely towed the fishing vessel to its berth in Anstruther harbour.

Lifeboats having just launched on exercise received a request from Aberdeen Coastguard to divert and proceed to St Andrews, where two people were reported to be cut off by the incoming tide.

ALB & ILB were stood down on route as the casualties were reported safe.
No further assistance required the Lifeboats continued with their planned exercise.

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to search for a dog reported by its owner to have fallen over the sea cliff, near to St Monans. 
ILB and ALB launched to assist Coastguard shore team but nothing found, stood down and returned to station.

ALB & ILB

Request from Aberdeen Coastguard to assist a fishing vessel 10 nm east of the Isle of May. The vessel with three crew aboard was drifting without power.

ALB quickly launched as crew were making their way to the station for a planned exercise. The casualty was located and towed towards Pittenweem but the fishing vessel started to take on water. The tow was therefore diverted to Anstruther, while salvage pumps were used aboard the casualty, to enable the vessel to be safely beached for repair within the harbour.

The ILB was launched to act as a brake while entering the harbour.
With the vessel safely beached and the crew ashore no further assistance was required and the lifeboats re-housed.
