The ALB ‘Kingdom of Fife’ suffered a serious mechanical failure with overheating of the starboard engine leaving Methil yesterday. After carrying out search operations off Pittenweem, the ALB returned to Pittenweem awaiting engineering report.
The boat was placed on restricted service until a relief Mersey Lifeboat arrived.
The relief Mersey Class lifeboat, ‘Lifetime Care’ arrived today by road and was craned into the harbour. Kingdom of Fife has returned to RNLI workshops for repair.
